The Parallel 2 sets itself apart from other battery cases with its unique slide and lock mechanism. By taking advantage of the curved edges of the iPhone 6, the battery pack seamlessly attaches to the protective case, leaving the back of the iPhone clear and minimalistic. Unlike other battery cases that add unnecessary bulk, the Parallel 2 retains the form factor of the phone, maintaining its length and width.
One of the standout features of the Parallel 2 is its detachable design. Recognizing that batteries are only needed in emergencies, the designers made the battery pack easily detachable, allowing users to carry it only when necessary. Even when detached, the iPhone remains protected by the stylish case.
Every detail of the Parallel 2 has been carefully considered to enhance the user experience. The battery pack features a hidden and built-in lightning connector, eliminating the need for additional cables. A simple shake activates the battery capacity indicator, eliminating the need for clunky buttons. The slim profile of the battery pack and the minimalistic design of the case further add to the overall appeal of the Parallel 2.
The Parallel 2 is made using a combination of polycarbonate and thermoplastic polyurethane, chosen for their temperature resistance, impact resistance, and elasticity properties. The three components of the case - the iPhone casing, the battery cover, and the battery holder - are injection molded and finished differently to achieve visual contrast and feel. The iPhone casing is wrapped in thermoplastic polyurethane for maximum protection, while the battery holder is finished with a rubber coating surface to minimize scratches and provide a better hand feel.
Technical specifications of the Parallel 2 include a Li-polymer battery with a capacity of 2900mAh, input and output interfaces of DC5V/1A, and dimensions of 15.4 x 140.7 x 69.6 mm. The battery pack can be charged in approximately four hours and can charge the iPhone in approximately two hours. The Parallel 2 is also equipped with a standby time of up to 304 hours, talk time of up to 11 hours on 3G, and internet surfing time of up to 13.5 hours on Wi-Fi.
The Parallel 2 project started in January 2014 in Singapore and was completed by September 2014. It was exhibited at CES Las Vegas in 2015, where it received the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Digital and Electronic Device Design category.
With its sleek design, innovative features, and powerful functionality, the Parallel 2 is a must-have accessory for iPhone 6 users who value both style and convenience.
